    MY15 Puma w/TJM Bar-Will Warn 8274 Fit?

I've been looking around, but haven't seen any pics or comments about the above set up.

Does anyone have any idea if this combo is possible? I've already got the TJM bar on.....

    Cheers,
    Neo

The bar will probably need modifying to make the winch fit.....
The bar would likely need to be cut to allow the winch to stick up through the bar.
Warn 8274 winch mounts are at the front of the winch, the mounting points for most other winches are at the bottom of them.

It is easy to make up a plate to fit the warn winch to.

Warn 8274's sometimes look a bit funny as they are usually slightly offset when mounted due to the design where the main casing sticks out to one side of the winch drum, with the motor mounted above the drum.

Also, I think that TJM bars needed an optional winch cradle for them???
    Is this still the case?
Or is it possible to bolt up a low mount winch directly to the TJM defender bar without a cradle?

    Mike,
It came with a cradle, but as I don't have the M8274, I'm not sure how it will all fit together. The cradle mounts east west into holes which are in the bar. I'm just not sure how the 8247 would mount from there.....Appears to be plenty of room though.

All the bars I've seen for the HM need the grill cut out,I had to cut my Tdi bar and it's shorter than the TDCi's snout. Pat

Thanks Pat! Is there any issue (other than perhaps not being cosmetically very nice to look at), in cutting the grill? Isn't it just plastic on the PUMA?

If you do it neatly the winch sits inside it and looks good, otherwise you have to get a HM bar which looks like a dozer blade hanging off the front of your defer,my HM sits hard against the grill in the Tdi but the bar had to get the middle section moved forward 2'' to fit it in,I could not get it to work in my TDCi without hacking into the bar and grill so dropped it. Arb had a bar that you could fit the 8274 on with a slight mod . I know as i had the same bar and winch on a Tdi and a Td5 Deefer , The bar and Td5 Deefer has now gone to another member on here

I had a 8274 on my old 90 with an ARB bumper

How you do it is use 3.5 v8 head bolts which are the same thread as the Warn winch mount ones but longer and then put a spacer block between the bumper and winch to space the winch back about 5 to 10cm. Which means it will clear the bar above which is normally the problem
The winch sits back a bit but still does not hit the grill and fits nicely

    Thanks guys!

As I'm a bit leery to start cutting into the powder coating on my new bulbar (wah, wah, wah,), I'm gonna go with a 9.5 XP-S.

Thanks to you all for helping me get to this decision!

    Cheers,
    Neo
