Try them all - there are soooo many great beers it's pretty hard to narrow it down.. Have a great time!
We're heading off to Europe for a month (mainly France & Italy) this evening
& I was wondering if anyone here can help me out on their beers.
I normally drink Great Northern & don't mind Coopers Pale, Carlton Dry, Fat Yak & of course, Guinness.
We get picked up at 1900 so some expediency would be appreciated
Steve

Beers are much more regional in Europe. Each town will have their own brewery and it will be hard to find the beer they make anywhere but in the town.
That said, breweries can be a bit few and far between in Italy and France.
In northern Italy the FORST brewery is great and has excellent food as well: Forst
The Alsace region of France has a lot of great Belgian/German Style breweries.
Leffe is a good quality Belgian beer that you can buy in any supermarket in France.
Most beers brewed in Italy and France are light/crisp lager style beers - but also a few pale ales. There are dark and amber beers in the north though.
Try them all, then report back to us.

You'll be spoilt by choices, mate! Give it a good try, although most Italian and French brews are not quite to my liking, at least the bigger, commercial labels. But, as stated already, there are those small local breweries almost anywhere, whose produce you only will get regionally. Give those a try, you might find a gem or two. I am awaiting your report!![]()

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
Lowenbrau.
Can be bought here for $42 a slab. Be funny if its dearer in Europe.
That is all, DL
PS......... enjoy all the inferiors while you're there!
Italy has a huge number of craft breweries - try very local small places and avoid the macro boring lagers!
This will help you find them:
