    Battery life

At last! The battery in my 2004 Defender Xtreme has given up. 10.5 years, so I am not complaining. It was a Supercharge Gold MF31-931.

Pretty good life for a battery, I think.

    Cheers,

    Lionel

If it's a Supercharge battery, it's not the original from the factory.

Typically a battery life will be round 2-3 years at best. Im sure battery quality has deminished over the years, yes there is more things to drain a battery on a newer type vehicle, but still in general its a poor lifespan.

    Lionel,

I understand that heat is the big killer of batteries so by having the battery under the seat instead of in the hot engine compartment, most Defender owners get a pretty good run from their battery.

Still, over 10 years is very good!

    Battery life

    My
last battery lasted nearly 12years. Suspect it really died due to lack of use whilst working overseas too much.

Absolutely spot on comment, not too many vehicles have the battery out of the heat like a Defender.

I purchased the car (including Supercharge battery!) as a demonstrator with 1,500Kms on it in Aug 2004. As I say, 10.5 years service, whether it's the factory original or not!

    Cheers,

    Lionel
