Hi all, has anyone got or used a ready welder portable mig and ran it off a small DC stick caddy welder for the power supply? I have a 170A cig caddy and are hoping it will run the mig for welding thin RHS etc.

Are wanting to use it for small sight jobs, and being able to run it off car batteries out bush will be very handy also.

Other option is to buy a small inverter mig, but no good out bush, trying to kill two birds!

I Just purchased a ready welder sitting here next to me.
I require a welder for a few things on the truck and figured that was the best way to spend my money so then I can also take it with me anywhere.
