Defender electrickery problem - need help please

Picked my car up last night from the repairers for the power problem (yes waste gate on turbo stuck open) and when I got it the wipers were vertical and didn't work.

Luckily it didn't rain on the way home. I checked it out this morning and the 10A fuse was blown so I replaced it and..... it blew again !

Has anyone got any idea as to what I might look at to get this sorted? I kinda need the wipers this weekend.....

On another but I think unrelated matter... as it's been going on for some time.
Whenever I turn the indicators on, the trailer light on the dash also comes on but then goes off as he indicators start to flash. I'd never worried about it but happened to try the hazards and ONLY the trailer light flashes (where'd I'd assume it's the indicator light that should)

I'm thinking there might be earthing problems somewhere along the line butI wouldn't have the first idea of how to go about checking and where.

    Please help !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    First thing
The trailer light is designed to flash once when the indicators are put on then not flash the second time once the system has worked out that their is not a trailer there. If there is a trailer then they stay on.

Second put a bigger fuse in work to a 30amp that will fix it :-)

If you do that, just have one Lucas Replacement Wiring Harness Smoke kit handy.

Probably be the indicator globes in your bulbar, putting extra load on the circuit. Replacing the bulbar globes with LED ones should fix it - take them out first to test.

I had the same problem awhile ago with the wipers on myn, had no idea where to start but I had the wiper motor end of the dash off routing some wiring and found while there that the plug that connects onto the wiper motor was quite corroded, gave it a good clean as best I could and it hasn't blown the fuse since, might not be your issue but worth a look.

No not really the wiper Motor is on the far left of the dash
So just talk of the end part of the dash on the left hand side ( where there is a split in the bottom part of the dash ) and there is the motor.

It could also be the plug joiner under the steering shroud thingy. I had a similar thing a few years ago and found where the two plugs join together it was earthing out on the dash frame. moved it and wrapped it in insulating tape and no more problem.
