    Mounting a Tablet on dash

Does anyone have photos that they can post here showing how they mounted a tablet to the dash of their vehicle?

I have a 10.1" Asus tablet fitted to a RAM Tab-Tite holder which for a short while I used to attach to the windscreen of our previous vehicle with a sturdy RAM suction cup. It was located in the middle of the dash - ie between the passenger and driver, but it was too high on the dash and blocked a good part of my forward vision - apart from possibly being against the law, so I removed it. I also tried the holder that clips into the air vents - not stable for a 10.1" tablet and the rod that bolts to the base of the front passenger seat with the tablet sitting on top - again very unstable on rough roads.
I haven't tried installing the tablet in our new TDV6 MY15 yet as it is still at the mechanics being fitted with stuff. So I am not sure if placing the RAM mount on the dash will be obstructive or not.
    Has anyone found a solution?
ps: I don't want to go any smaller with the size of the Tablet.

Try google for Hold my Phone. They have quite an array of mounts, not sure if suitable for the weight and size of a tablet but worth a look.
    Cheers Alan

I have the mount. I just want to see where others have attached it. Also want to see if anyone else has placed it on top of the dash in the middle and whether it obstructs the driver's view.

Make a cardboard dummy and try it out.

I use a windscreen suction RAM mount for my Galaxy tab 10.1, it works well and doesn't really obstruct my vision at all.

I'd send a photo but I've taken it off as I'm having the windscreen replaced tomorrow.
    Once that's sorted I'll post a photo.

With the 8 speeds lack of a shift lever, there is a huge amount of real estate to mount a tablet down lower down. I have a 7" tablet in a RAM mount mounted on a flat steel bracket I made that bolts to the front seat bases. I have a small RAM mount that I can swap to use with my phone.

I had the tablet mounted up higher in my old D2a, but I could not find anywhere suitable high up to mount it on the D4, both in terms of suitable to see without undue obstruction of the dash and something to mount it to.

    Have fun.

Do you have it mounted on the dash between the passenger and the driver?

Interesting set up Chris. Does it not get the shakes when going over rough surfaces?
I used to have mine low down about the height of your set up on our previous vehicle (Nissan Patrol), but found that I had to take my eyes off the road for too long - ie just a second or two, but still the switching back and forth was a little disconcerting - especially for the passengers

The phone is rock solid in its smaller mount, I haven't checked the larger tablet on a decent rough road yet. I would prefer it mounted higher up but there is no space without obstructing the touch screen or vision over the dash.

I use a windscreen mounted bracket which suits 7 - 8" tablets, I wouldn't go any larger than that up there.
It's great not to have to look down to check the map.
