    Sensor... Where is ???

    Hi.
I occasionally get a water in fuel warning... Im sure its only a sensor fault as happens only occasionally and normally after driving through a puddle or causeway..
The stealer has drained the fuel filter and given it a clean bill of health..

So where is the sensor, so that i can test my theory?

    Cheers

The sensor is part of the fuel filter which is located approximately under the floor of the driver's seat. With the gearbox shield removed the filter is up under the floor above the gearbox rear cross-member. The sensor is in the bottom of the filter bowl with a wire going to a small encapsulated control circuit mounted on top of the filter housing.

Your problem is likely to be that the single-wire electrical connection is not waterproof so covering it with a silicone sealant will be needed.

I had the same service dept action when mine triggered going through puddles - drained the filter and reported tested OK but didn't drive it through a puddle!
