    Annoying squeak fixed

Relief at last as this one has been doing my head in . It all started back at the end of March after replacing a head gasket and engine mount. Every time the car was driven from around 35 K/hr there was a persistent squeak as you were driving along. I have removed the new engine mount and greased the shaft as well as check all other mounts for deterioration and cracks. Nothing... I have silicone sprayed the rubber seals around the bonnet, checked mirrors thumped panels, bumper bar running boards etc nothing. I could not get the squeak to sound unless I drove the car. That is until today....... And it all came together when I slammed the bonnet down in frustration of not finding the squeak. When the bonnet got slammed down hard it squeaked . A couple of slams later to determine where the squeak came from turned out to be something totally unrelated to the head gasket and engine mount replacement. It finished up being the lock pin on the RHS of the bonnet that had started to come loose a couple of turns with the screw driver and tighten up of the lock nut and no more squeaks .
