    Alternators

As i dont know much about elecrical stuff i need some help.
My alternator stopped charging when i was out spotlighting
1: Could that be that i drew too much current? (The brushes are still fine.)
2: How do i know which bigger alternators will fit or is there any chance of getting a better alternator without mods or different belts?
3: Umm i think thats all... Thanks

Hi snierator, you haven’t given us enough detail but none the less I think a trip to an auto electricians might be the best thing to do.

    Cheers.

Yes, you can get larger alternators.... I've got a 100A in my 300TDi 'Fender but they are plenty more $$$ than the regular!

If it's not charging, there's a number of things that could be the cause.

1 - It's not getting the 12v feed it needs to start charging.
2 - The Dash light could be blown. This would stop the alternator from charging.
3 - The Alternator is knackered!

Some more info would be useful.

    HTH
