Flash triggers

So after Ron lent me some flash triggers eel over a year ago

I finally bought some lol

I decided to get some yonguno triggers (same brand as what Ron loaned me)
But a little more than rons basic trigger I purchased the iTTL equipt trigger

Now I just got to play with them and try build up a bit of confidence with my off camera flash.

I don't know why I'm so scared of the bloody thing (I guess it's not easy to understand)

By all means if you got any tips fire away

Are they new models, Lou? I suspect they are not Pentax compatible.

I have only used mine a couple of times for triggering flash guns so I can't offer much advice. I used them with flashguns in umbrellas for a model shoot. (If you'd like to try the umbrellas you are welcome to do so. I can drop them to Scouse.)

I have also used them as remote triggers to fire the camera shutter when I wanted to be in a group picture and camera was too far away for me to set the delayed timer and then run to the group. (I'd have had to clamber up a bank onto a bridge.)

Since buying them, I had been thinking of moving to the new Cactus triggers.

By all accounts people seem pretty happy with them. I was hoping to get something a bit smaller and less intrusive looking on the camera but now I have them they are not to big and in sure I will get used to them.

Hmm, it is compatible with my Pentax and Yongnuo flashguns!

Wait. Maybe not with TTL function.

I had better read up on them.

I would say you could come round and try mine but the ones I have are specific to the Nikon as you can buy for Nikon or canon so I don't actually know if they would work on the Pentax or not

Well what can I say got it out of the box turned it on and it just worked nice little unit. Feels a bit plastic until batteries go in and give it a bit of weight and it lights up like a Christians tree.

Nikon work on Pentax - same hotshoe layout. Canon do not.

The triggers I currently have are Nikon with a Canon lead. Canon use the same lead as Pentax.

It came with two leads Ron I'm assuming because some models require a lead I'm not sure.

Was going to post my first attempt at flash tonight but iiNet has gone down and I have no network at home.

It will be interesting to hear what you think of them, Lou.

The second cable with the tip, ring, and sleeve phono plug as shown in the advert looks like the Canon/Pentax lead.

I have only obviously used it in the house today

But they are very simple to use. I have used it today in both iTTL and in manual. It good to be able to change settings of the flash from the camera etc.

I'm no expert with these things but I would say it's a really good bit of kit and I'm really happy with it.
