    255/85 on sawtooth?

G'day just wondering if anyone has fitted 255/85r16 tyres to their sawtooth alloys? Any rubbing or issues? Looking for something taller than the standard 235, but wanting to retain factory flares and no suspension lift. Cheers

Gerez you're turning circle will be compromised and they'll rub on the back spring mounts.

255/85's are better on the HD 130 rims (20.6mm offset vs the 33mm offset of all the other Defender factory rims) or better, a set of 0mm offset 7" rims.

They will still sit under the flares (just) and you shouldn't have the rear spring rub problem you will have when they are mounted on a 33mm offset rim.

Thanks rick. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but I thought the sawtooth's had a 20mm offset, not 33 like the other alloys?

    Don't know ?
It should be marked on the rim somewhere.
My bad if that's the case.

I'll double check later on but I'm pretty sure they're 20mm offset. If that's the case, the 255/85's should be ok then?

On a 90 they aren't a problem and only the slightest adjustment to steering stops may be necessary...

On a 110 the 255s can rub on the Drivers side rear spring perch at full compression - although its often so insignificant its not worth concern...

Sawtooth alloys are +20mm according to a Defender brochure from a few years back.
