    Jayco Setec vs Traxide

I've just purchased a Jayco caravan that has a Setec ST35II power supply/battery charger.
The D3 tug has a double aux battery seperated from the starter battery by a Traxide system.

The car is connected to the van by an anderson plug wired direct to the van battery. The van also has a 120w solar panel connected, via a regulator, to the van battery.

    All seems to work well.

    My question is:

The Setec has an auxiliary 12v input and I'm wondering if this is an advantage or will it work against the Traxide.

    The Setec manual says
Auxiliary Power Input: The power supply terminal ?Aux In +VE? provides an alternative option
for powering of the load and float charging of the batteries when mains voltages are not present.
This input is to be powered by a suitable +12V system. (i.e. CAR). The voltage of the auxiliary
power source should not exceed 14.8 volts.
When operating via the external input, current and voltage control for the battery must be provided
from the external source. The ST20-II/35-II does not provide battery current limit or voltage control
when operating in this configuration. Trickle Charge is still functional when powered through
?Aux In +VE? terminal of power supply.

This isn't actually wired up yet. If it is a good idea I would wire it to the constant power line in the white plug.

    Any comments?

PM Drivesafe there's nothing about Traxide he doesn't know!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

You are providing power directly to the battery via the Andersen plug...
I see no reason to add another feed in point when your set up provides a high current solution and quicker charging...
