My oem' are quiet as - Pirelli scorpions
Has anyone here used Michelin Latitude Tour HP's on their D4? I am trying to find the quietest tyre I possibly can. I don't need off-road performance but I do want comfort and silence. The OEM wranglers sort of spoil the wonderful silence of the rest of the car.
I have Michelin LTX's on the Defender and they seem quieter than the Wranglers - of course there are some other noises in the Defender.....

Yep. I've had them on for about 15,000Ks now and find then quiet and comfortable. However perhaps not the best tyre if you are towing a 2.6 ton van as I am. Seem to be a bit soft in the side walls with 260kgs+ on the tow ball. Otherwise I'd say go for it.
Pirelli Scorpion Zero are fairly quiet. I'm on my second set and will use them again
Thanks gents for the replies. Does anyone have an opinion as to which would be quieter, the Michelin or the Pirellis? Thanks, Paul
sorry mate no idea, would come down to the tread pattern I would think.
both appear to have a similar pater so would think it is much of a muchness.
I have used contintnals, for they type, very, very quiet but hopeless conering, too much movement in sidewalls.
Thanks Peter, I had wondered about Contis - from what you say, I don't want them!
perhaps google Michelin Latitude Tour HP's reviews?

Check out the tyre company sites in EU/UK as they now have to give a comparative noise rating.
Just remember that dB increase isn't linear so a 1-2dB increase is significant.
