What about the one in Glenrowan?
Pricey
I saw on the News tonight that Joanne Griffiths, a descendant of the kelly family who remembered Ned's hanging at the Old Melbourne Gaol today, has registered the name the title of this thread.
It is her ultimate aim to have a centre opened in North East Victoria focussing on the history of the Kelly family.
As a "follower" of the Ned Kelly saga, I shall be interested to see where this goes.
I understand that other forum members may not share the same interest as I do, everyone will have differing views, so I'm simply posting this up so that if anyone is interested, they can now be aware, & maybe check out the facebook page that has just been created.

Yes, there will always be Glenrowan, the site of the siege, and the shops that are there etc......been there many many times myself.
I think that what Joanne is trying to promote is a more "personal" centre, focussing on Ned's life, and the "Social/Historical" issues that were current at the time.
Like I said, it's extremely early days, so I suppose that if this idea gathers momentum & support, more details will emerge.

Did you know that the Kelly armour in the Victorian Museum is a hybrid and comes from two different sets.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
no, tell us more.
Apparently (if I get this correct, unfortunately Bob's unavailable) the cod piece for Ned Kelly's armour in the State Library of Vic is the cod piece for Joseph Byrne's.
If you look at this image, the two sets on the RHS, the far right has 3 holes in the cod piece, while the chest plate has only two and the outer two holes don't quite line up.
Then look at the second from the right and the situation is reversed.
After Bob made the replicas, he swapped the cod pieces and all the holes lined up.

Now this could be fun......maybe we can contact Ned himself......John Williamson did.
