			Bluetooth in a D3 SE with CD-400?

					Hi everyone,

Just got my hands on a 2008 D3 SE with the CD-400 (base) sound system. Only thing I wish it had was bluetooth. I have been looking to install bluetooth retrospectively, and have discovered I can't install the standard LR bluetooth module, as it needs the premium sound system.

Ideally I am wanting something that will function like a factory system as much as possible. I am not that keen on replacing the head unit as i really only want the system for phone calls (I can use the AUX input for music), and I want the install to look as factory as possible, though it is always an option.

I have also thought of just buying a cheap ebay cigarette plug type module that uses your AUX input to give sound to the speakers, but am not sure how well these will work (some are only $17 delivered so may be worth a try). I have also looked at the Parrot range of products, and am leaning towards the CK300 evolution as it is the cheapest and most slimline, not sure on it's functionality regarding voice recognition or phonebook sync yet, and something with caller ID would be nice.

I have searched the forum and have only found installs on premium systems or installs of new head units, not this (though I'm sure a thread has been previously created, I just can't find it).

What are peoples experiences and recommendations with either of these systems, or are there any other systems that will meet my needs?

 Thanks everyone,

 Dan

					Hi Dan,
Here is a thread which shows a solution that might suit you:
 http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/...-mans-fix.html

I bought one of these for my wife's Falcon and they work well.

The only issue with keeping your head unit is that you will have to press two buttons to answer a call (Aux on head unit and answer on the above bluetooth unit). Unless you are listening to A2DP music - then easy peasy.

 Cheers,
 Rob

                                                #3

					Thanks Rob

Thanks for the thread link! That solution is the cheapo ebay one that i found.

I think my biggest issue with them is they dont have easy to see buttons to answer calls.

I found a couple that have an AUX in as well, i assume so that you can listen to music which will then cut out when you get a call, but then they dont have a USB power socket.

The biggest thing i like about the parrot systems are they will cut out whatever audio you are listening to, as they seem to have some control over the head unit.

 Cheers

 Dan
