Yup, certainly looks like one. They are harmless and if they are in an area where they could be harmed (ie a cat or dog) I throw a towel over them and move them. ( the lizard, not the cat or dog) Believe it or not they actually have a blue tongue.

They are also a natural control for snakes as they eat the eggs. They will possibly,if you really really reeeaaaalllyy annoy them, give you a bite that can turn nasty. So there might be a snake or two around as well.

well my elderly neighbor keeps calling up the council saying there are snakes in her back yard and its my fault.

i havnt found a single snake just this blue tongue.
so either there are snakes in her yard and they dont like my yard.
or her eyesight is bad and she thinks the blue tongue is a snake.

All the snakes that WERE in your yard have moved next door to the elderly neighbor's place since your blue tongue has moved in !

    No problems then ?

Hence, the reason for me throwing a towel over them plus (as mentioned) a bite from them can turn nasty. They are also protected wildlife. I have moved a couple ( probably the same one coming back) and had no problems.

I catch them around here and after removing all the ticks they usually have let them go,they are good at cleaning up snails also. Pat
