yep, the one kit suits mulitple pumps.
Hi,
has anyone ever had the need to put a kit through the fuel pump (mechanical pump) in 2A two and a quarter? I have a few spare bits in the kit and I am not sure if they should be used in pump.
The replacement oil seal fits over the internal housing as opposed to the original which was inside this housing. There is a further metal cup approx. one inch in diameter and two flat rubber washers about the same diameter with a quarter in hole in the centre. These don't really resemble any parts I have removed from the pump.
The kit I have is a Goss 966VC and there is an assortment of gaskets in it, so I assume that it suits several vehicles.
Thank you and cheers,
Mick.

Is the metal cup the retainer for the new oil seal? The spring should then retain the seal retainer.

All sorted.
I rang "Goss" and got to speak to a very seasoned and very knowledgeable employee who knew exactly what he and I were talking about!
He set me straight and told me what bits to toss over my shoulder.
Thanks to those who replied to me post.
Cheers, Mick.

untoss them...
grab some photos, if you go back to the same place ask if you can take some pics of the parts in an original kit.
put up the photos showing before and after of the parts so other people dont have to worry...
you wont hear a thing about them for month and then sure as shooting 10 people are going to be asking the same question because they just got to that bit of the rebuild or because of the weather they're using the old landy or its xmas so the beach hut trip is on....
