Queensland Registration Questions
Looking for some guidance please:
A good family friend has just lost her mother and father. They died a week apart.
I'm trying to help close out the family estate and there is a Queensland registered car that I need to sell. (2011 Nissan X-trail with 16,000 KM on clock). The car is being shipped down to me in Melbourne where I plan to sell it.
I'm familiar with the process to Register the car in Victoria and can take care of the Roadworthy Certificate and Victorian Registration for the new owner.
However what do I need to do to cancel the Queensland Registration and (presumably) get a refund on the unused registration?
If someone could let me know the steps or direct me to the right website that would be much appreciated.
Thanks ...... Paul

Simply fill out a Rego Cancellation form, it may be available on line.
You'll get a better price in Queensland than Victoria.

I assume you have proof of ownership??........from memory the estate issues some form of paperwork.
