Is the world ready for driverless cars? I don't think so IMO.

Has sufficient thought regarding laws and road rules been implemented? I know SA were looking at this, but I really don't think 12 months will cut it to start rolling out a commercial venture around this.

What will happen when the first fatality involving a driverless car happens when it's the fault of that vehicle? It will happen, it's a matter of when, not if.

Does a driverless car 'look' at what is behind it and how close before braking for a light that's turning red with some knob tailgating it? Will the drivers of other vehicles be aware that the other vehicle has no driver? What happens if the electronics fail or get damaged (stone thrown up from another car, etc) and the car doesn't know what to do? How can it pull safely over to the side of the road or will it leave its passengers stranded in the middle of a highway somewhere waiting to be cleaned up by a truck?

So many questions, and many won't get sorted until after the fact. I sure as **** won't be getting in one in 12 months time, or ever - I like driving.

One positive, road rage fools will have to fight themselves.
