    D4 rear hatch problems

Good morning all, having a problem with the D4 rear hatch release. I've read the posts so far but cant point to whats wrong with mine. It has jammed closed before but following liberal WD40 & grease, etc. It now opens but only after 2-3 clicks of the handle. Cable looks fine. Any clues as to which part need replacing?

Assume you mean the upper tailgate latch?
If so, sounds the same as James. His cable was ok but the electric actuator started to fail until eventually it stopped altogether.
Has the actuator noise changed, perhaps sounding more laboured? Is it better with the vehicle running, when it has a higher voltage available?

If this is your issue, better to replace the actuator now before the tailgate gets stuck in the closed position. It's not very expensive or too difficult with the tailgate open.
