Remote diff filler plug?![]()
Where does this bit belong. (1971 2a)
It was several years ago when I pulled the vehicle down and
now I am racking my brain trying to picture where it belongs.
I have a feeling it was somewhere near the clutch mechanism.
Cheers, Mick.

Thanks Phil,
that makes sense.
I knew it was somewhere on the bell housing, but was thinking more clutch mechanism.
Cheers, Mick.

The plug is a std plumbing fitting, the bracket is easily made, cheers Dennis
I removed the same item over the weekend....it was attached to the lowest bell housing bolt facing toward the engine. When I took it off, I had no idea what it's purpose was other than to catch mud.
I have always thought it should have been a gate device where it would have an open window and be a simple slide to close before going through water or mud. As it is, you have to spend time underneath the vehicle with a tool to unbolt, move and bolt up again.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
