    One heck of an ISO!

The new Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR has been released.

The max ISO is a whopping 204,800! Come on ambient light night-time photography!

    Size comparison:

Who is on the Overlander forum to ask Big Red if he's ordered a K-1?

My wife would kill me. I believe the AU price will be around $2,400 for the body (it's US$1,800).

All my AF 35mm film body lenses will work perfectly with it..

I could but they'd not fetch much.

The old *istD stays in my car and, if damaged or stolen, isn't a big financial loss. It's useful because it works with my old TTL ring and other flashes. The colour rendition is really nice on those old CCD sensors.

The K100D is now used by my daughter.

The K-7 and K-5 are almost physically identical and ergonomically they are identical. I can flick from one to the other without noticing. I have to look to see which one I've got in my hand. That gives me two bodies I can carry around with different lenses and quickly swap between them. The K-5 has much better noise performance in low light.

The Q I rarely use so I could get rid of it but it does fit in my pocket. But.... when fitted with a Pentax DSLR lens, it has a crop factor of nearly 5 - so my 300mm becomes close to 1.5metres equivalent.

Seen the "ISO" on the new Nikon D5 it's only 3,280,000.
That Pentax looks very nice though.
