Easy as .... Mulgo is very suitable, not familiar with the other.
Hi All,
Just had a customer ask about fitting a lockable box under the centre console on a Defender TDCi (puma), I'm sure I've got customers (that are also AULRO members) that already have this fitted to their TDCi (puma) but for the life of me I cant remember ...
*With the centre console sitting higher is there still enough room to make gear shifting comfortable?
*There are two options, listed below, which do owners prefer?
Front Runner Under Cubby Box Security Safe - Defender | Buy 4x4 Land Rover Toyota Nissan Accessories and Parts Online Store | Expedition Centre Australia by Mulgo
Mulgo ExBox | Buy 4x4 Land Rover Toyota Nissan Accessories and Parts Online Store | Expedition Centre Australia by Mulgo
cheers for your info..
Regards
Daz

Shifting (and elbow rest spot) is all good with the Ex Box.
I found after fitting my ExBox, I hit my elbow - once. It hurt enough for me to re-educate myself as to my left arm positioning. I've loved it ever since and now find it weird driving defenders without ExBoxes.
The Mulgo is on my wish list after seeing one in place. The owner said it lifted the cubby so it made a perfect arm rest. Apparently the Ex-box is available with or without the wiring.

Yup the muglo ex box is certainly on my list for sure but for me id like to include the wiring too so i can move all the electrics from under the drivers seat....![]()
Alien has a Mulgo fitted to his Puma.
I have not heard, seen or experienced any problems with it. No issues with changing gears.
I know you said a Puma but surly there can't be that much difference. I have the Frontrunner lockable safe in a TD5. I removed the two wooden things from under the centre cubby and its at about the original height. Very happy with the safe but it does get hot in there on a run!
Daz, Not sure where in Perth you are but I have a D90 PUMA with Mulgo lockable safe under the centre cubby. Happy to try and arrange for you or your customer to have a look and a sit in it if needed. No problem with gear or transfer changes and the increased height of the cubby is perfect.
Cheers, John B
I'm pretty sure this is accomplished by using the original wiring, just re-routed with nothing extra required.
I came within a hairs breadth of fitting an exbox to mine a couple of years ago, the courier misplaced my order and it turned up about 2 months late, too late to fit before our Kimberley trip so sent it back. Still on the list of things to do.
