Best bike I ever rode, apart from my current husquvarna TE300 dirt bike, is a MV 1090rr. Rode it back to back with a triumph speed triple 1050......not even close.
Was on my way to pick someone up from an appointment when they happened to ring me to tell me they were going to be another 2hours, just as I happened to be driving past a motorcycle shop - Now I want a MV Agusta Brutale 800rr, lucky for me (maybe not) the sales man says "too bad you do not have long pants on, otherwise I would let you take it for a ride for an hour". It was very tempting not to go and buy a new pair of pants.
Very impressed with the sales man - as he spent a lot of time with me, and no pressure at all about buying. Let me sit on any bike in the shop and ask all kinds of questions. Even started one up for me and ran through some of its features.
If I ever get serious about a new bike would not hesitate to go back to that sales man.
I am even now more confused as what I want for my next bike. The more I look around the less I like about the Japanese bikes.

I had my heart set on a Triumph speed triple but I may be swayed away now. My plan would be to try and test ride them as close to each other as possible.

Don't think I've ever bought anything with my head, always the heart.
Always ends up costing me more but I have had some awesome experiences.
The new speed triple looks the goods compared to the last model.
A work colleague had a Brutale. The $3500-$4000 first service cost put me off...![]()
Do not know about the first service (1000km) but the sales man told me about $500.00 for the 6000km service and about $1000 for the 12000km - the expensive one as they do the valve clearance then (every 12000km)
I wonder if you could negotiate the service cost into the purchase price?
Sorry if this offends any MV owners, it is not meant to, but a MV is called a collector bike.
Once you own it you can't give them away. One of the fastest depreciating motorcycle brands on the market, a Benneli is worse but not by much.
Still if it's the one then it's the one and who cares about depreciation.
Cheers,
Terry

I'm actually more concerned about the direct correlation between the motorcycle theme of this thread and the OPs moniker...😮😮😣😣
