    Tempted: Tdi Vs Td5

The horns of a dilemma or the devil I know:

Now I “love” my Disco and after 7 years (itch?) I am beginning to understand her (as best as one can understand the female of the species). She is simple and robust but she won’t last forever.

I have heard of a 2000 auto Td5 D2 with about 100,000km on road on the clock. The price is tempting. Chipped and serviced by a reputable mob.

With a loan and if I can sell my current English Mistress I might have enough left over for the necessary accessories: CDL actuation, decent tyres, suspension mods, snorkel etc etc.

What should I do: remain faithful to the cause or do the bungee jump?

    What mods would be interchangable??

Keep the old girl and give me the address of the TD5 as I have been looking for one to buy myself.

Seriously, if you decide not to buy it, I am very interested.

Well the path of sense would be to keep the Tdi300 for another few years and save up for a D3.

But I'm fickle, I've never owned any car longer than three years.

    - Subaru 1800 bought it for nothing planning on wrecking when rego ran out and I fell in love.

    Cheeers,

    Simon.

    Hi Discowhite
My TD5 aint no V8,but for a diesel it flies.OK its possibly chipped, but when it comes to the bowser it definately is no V8.A diesel with reasonable grunt beats the uneconomy of a V8 anytime.PS I love V8's,got a SER3 with a Falcon V8 and auto sitting in my shed waiting for me to get stuck into and finished.

Go the TD5 Mahn, you have a company car, so paying for fuel and a loan isnt an issue. Go for it. Matt
