Londons big dig reveals stone age history

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Where I grew up in England people would often find Roman remains during earthworks in their back yard (like mosaics). Museum staff would clean, photograph and protect and leave in situ (all documented as to what and where for later excavation if needed).

Many archaeological digs from the universities in the abandoned fields behind our place in Ilchester (Lindinis - Roman fort village). Lots of coins, jugs and the like.

Better still, playing with mates around Salisbury Plain. The amount of spent ammo belts and cases, camo nets you'd find. Also awesome around exercises to watch tanks crossing roads.

There is a good article on their subject in the latest National Geographic magazine. Really interesting.
