    Gidget's disco 2

Well now that the defender has gone (to make way for the 2wd work rodeo) something had to be done to get the disco's guts off the ground.
So for starters in went some new suspension. Lovells springs & bilstein shocks, all custom made to our desire spes.

    Before shots

    After shots

Then I had to make some drawers to fit my crap in & incorparate the 110l waceo.

The bearrings used for the drawers, seems to work well & dosn't rattle.

No , no ace in this vehicle. But it is set up for touring weight so it has more onroad maners now than it did before.
The shocks set me back $1180
    Springs $440
    Abs extensions $95
& new brake lines to come $200

I have allso since fitted a dual battery system under the bonnet. Shoe horning a 12" instead of a 8" battery as said by every dual battery company.
I have allso fitted a Genuine half height dog barrier (cargo barrier).
I allso fitted the tx3200 uhf & 350watt inverter I rescued out of the defender. No pics of these yet.

Mate, thats good stuff. Thanks for the part numbers! You've got a good price on the springs, though I'm glads its all come together.

Also what type of slide have you put in? Which fridge does it suit and can it slide all the way out, clearing the storage unit? Does it rattle?
    Cheers

The fridge slide is a Black Widow & does pull out 100% of it's length, so the fridge comes right out past the storage unit. The slide is rated to 150kg. It doesn't rattle at all, supprising as it spent it's first 18 months of life bolted to the old defender's tray, LOL.
It suits an 80l engel or if you just cut a small peice out of the end for the power lead(like I did) it fits a 80l or a 110l waceo.
Waceo & black widow both now make slides to suit the full range of fridges, but The black widow ones are just a bit more compact, which makes them great if you are struggling for room.
I am very happy with the way the fridge & drawers all came togeather, I will take some pics tonight, as the fridge is still in & it will show how much room when it opens etc, it was all pretty tight fit( so tight I had to remove one of the handles on the fridge to make it fit, was only 4 screws, LOL), but it all came togeather in the end.

    A couple more pics

This is the fridge from above, showing how much room there is for it to open & close.

The cargo barrier were I had to cut it to fit the drawer system back in. I am going to trim the mesh back further & weld some more of the same size box section up & over the fridge compartment, with a couple tabs welded on the sides to attatch it to the fridge box for stregth. Should be strong as after that. Then sand blast & respray it.

This is where I managed to fit the 2nd battery, it all just fits in, I had to sit the video camera under the bonnet with a torch & just a battery shell to make sure it was all going to fit & not short out.
I Am glad I got it under the bonnet, the usual 8" battery wouldn't have been enough to cope with the fridge (not to mention when I hook up both fridges) & I didn't really want to put a sealed battery in the back of the cargo space permantly.

This is were the 350 watt inverter sits, Attatched to the Back of the drawers in between the drawers & the rear drivers seat.
