oh oh.. looks like they are having trouble selling D3's

I just got an email from Landrover... it's below. Normally when car companies start doing this it means they are registering cars with staff to help get their figures up. They then sell them as demos so they don't give the appearance of discounting .... especially a new model 8O 8O 8O

I wonder if a discount brings the pricing into line with any other 4WD bar Toyota?

Even tho I bought a new Rossignol in 1995, LR never bothers calling me, mongrels.

Your info will probably get up the noses of those who've paid full tote. I've seen heaps of them up here on road and even a few new RRs.

Went to Farmarama last week and the local (Casino NSW) dealer had three D3s on display. V6 petrol for $56k, a V6d for $71k and a full jobby for $91k, all driveaway. He also had a late D2 V8 (04) with lots of goodies said it was new last year for $91k, but I could have for just $75K.

    Hahahahahahaha. (Nice looking car tho'...)

I just can't quite get my head around the D3, the cabin roof (over driver) felt lower than the D1, but the rear was far longer, but no map pockets in the roof, and that HUGE dash, yeeek. Felt a bit like (sorry to say this) a Pajero.

Just remake the D1, LR, got it right the first time and you 've been doing a great job **cking it up ever since. 3 tonnes rolling, road tyres, not alloy and juice at record prices, come on.

That's my 2 bobs worth, wont be getting a D3. But the sales dude did a great job of telling me the price, for a V6D, which was easily affordable, after trades and leases and other incentives...and there were many...

like tickets to some bloody flower show, in Sydney, next.......

A mate was trying to buy a demo Defender last week. Apparently the country is just about out of new Defenders. The salesman at ULR said he had one Defender left - unregistered (so it can't be sold as a demo) and he was going to hold off and get $53K+ for it. So my mate bought a 2002 Defender privately the next day.

The reps reckon 18months with no Defenders , then a new model with TDV6 .

Yet still, they prefer to sell Discos rather than Defenders, when the latter sell quite well despite no advertising and no effort on LRAs part.

If they can't sell the D3s, maybe they might sell the motor/transmission cheap. I wonder how it would go in the Series III. 8) 8)

TDV6 Defenders they promise, but no 90s or 130s - so keep them in good nick, cos they won't depreciate. Despite a common motor and platform and a more automated plant - all reducing production costs, they guesstimate the TDV6 Defenders will start at $55K

looks like I'll be driving the Series III for several more decades.

    my 130 cost me $52 in 2000

so $55 aint to bad in my books with a bigger motor
