Part of an email from LR recently promoting the RRS:
From 21st - 25th September Sydney's Domain will come alive with 'Sydney in Bloom'. This is without doubt the loveliest location for a Garden Show with over 140 stands throughout the Domain.
Every day you'll have the opportunity to meet Australia's best known landscape and garden designer Jamie Durie, who will show you how to group colours, plant a tree walkway and design a no water garden with natives. Jamie's Discovery Garden also features Discovery 3 vehicles as highlights of the design.
Land Rover is giving away 50 pairs of tickets to Sydney in Bloom to subscribers of the Land Rover e-newsletter. To reserve your two tickets, be one of the first 50 people to RSVP here with "Bloom" in the email subject line. Make sure you provide your correct mailing address and contact number when you RSVP. Tickets are limited, so please respond early to avoid disappointment.

I could not think of anything more boring, but you know what they say, any publicity is good publicity.
I would rather the bush orientated thing but With my jungle of a block any help with taming it could be a good idea.
Maybe LRA could next sponsor a fat chef, just to showcase the D3s suspension.
[size=18]I'm looking at the poll results and wondering : Are we the evil twinsin the family :?: Because we don't seem to fall into the parent companies demographic. Or maybe LRA bosses are the evil stepmother 8O :!: :!: 8O
I've got it sussed, when you get to this 'event', pinch one of the D3's and run amok thru the gardens and over Jamie D (and Harold Scruby as he likes plants), should be able to do this with the road tyres on the new D3s. Then at this venue the various platforms could do as an 'offroad' course.
Hello testing, hmmmm. Pink D3 on the way LRA?
Pink 'whitewalls' would be nice...
And how about a petunia motif on the bonnet? Or a glady, autographed by Dame Edna?
The Dame Edna Disco, sounds catchy.
My dirty green D1 has just gone up in value, by the sounds of this, and if you have a real RR1 from the 1970s for a few bob I'll have it now, and you series guys, butch plus!! Those snorkelzzzz...hmmm.
Pluck!!
Sloane Rangers in the UK aren't they???

I think the problem is although LR has designed the D3 as an extremely capable full offroader to be up there with the most difficult of terrains, the marketing department are aiming their efforts squarely at the upper class end of town where these type of social events appeal far better than a weekend of driver training etc
Although they used to run a wine weekend at Mudgee once, they were great events  dont know what happened to them :?:

So do most Toorak gardens.
It doesnt interest me, but i think it is a top idea. We all complain because Land Rover dont do enough advertising and then when they do people hang **** on the idea. The fact of the matter is most of the D3s and RRS's sold wont even see dirt unless they have ripped a section of the M4 up. Sure we would like to see more in the bush, but this means that there will be more D3's serviced by dealers on the market in 5 yrs time. I personally wont be going, but I am glad to see Land Rover is looking outside the square to promote its products. Matt
