Got the roof rack for the D3 but still waiting for....

    .... the Roof Top tent

My excitment for the day was getting the Tradesman roof rack for the D3 today.

It looks like I didn't get value for money with the missing top rail where the tent mounts .

    Pics below:

There's a winch bar coming for the D3. Expect to see it at the Melbourne 4X4 Show. I'm going to ARB all day next Friday to do an in-depth story on it.

Slowly but surely the accessories begin to materalise. What it really needs though is a spare wheel carrier, and some way of disabling some airbags so a cargo barrier can be installed.

    Robert,

While you're there ask them about a snorkel. Maybe Kaymar will come up with something for the spare wheel. I reckon they would sell these O/S quite well.

Safari 4*4 didn't have anything in the pipeline about 3 months ago on the snorkel mainly due to a lack of volume. If it was a Hilux then there would be plenty of aftermarket accessories.

I wonder if you will ever see anything around that would disable airbags since that would make the vehicle unroadworthy. If you could get something to bump up the speed to override the 40kph speed limit to say 50 or 60 kph on the off-road height would be worhtwhile.

    Thanks,

    Chris

One of my questions is "what else is coming". When I spoke to them a couple of months back they were waiting to see what sales would do and seemed concerned the vehicle had gone too far upmarket.

Yes, the offroad height auto-adjustment drove me nuts too. It's a nanny mode. If I want to drive at 150 on max height I should be allowed to!

The G4 Disco 3's have snorkels on them so they are available.

The roof rack looks good. Once the parts supplier know the disco will sell well they will start bringing out the bits an pieces. They already have a full range for the new Craplux. Matt
