We had a bloke come thru the job the other day with a stuffed wheel bearing,so hot you couldnt touch the wheel anywhere..
He decided to leave the trailer and its contents on the side of the road and go to Collie 30ks away for parts.NOT A GOOD PLACE TO LEAVE ANYTHING,plenty of Pig hunters around that steal anything they can get their hands on,we have lost plenty of fuel out there,and it was nearly knock off time so we wouldnt be around to keep an eye on it for him.
I told this guy,if he removed the wheel,used one of his truckie straps(those proper heavy duty ones) to strap the axle as high as it would go.He would make it to his destination,albiet at a slower pace, without the risk of loosing his trailer and its contents.

Well, we prepped the repairs and got some steel on saturday morning in town, and Discowhite welded the trailer (now better than it was when the left) back to health.

The mexican curse continued over the weekend. It all started when Hiline decided he would drive through my dam (which WAS fully of reeds) the reeds got caught in the fan belt and damaged it. a quarter of the way in on the sunday the belt self destructed and pealed into a million srtips. He had a spare but it was an old one and it was marginally better than the on which we just pulled off. Any way, it lasted the rest of the day and i am assuming it got him to Cobram where he was getting another belt today. I guess we will find out when he gets home tomorrow. Matt
