disco front hubs

Hi, I am new to the forum and am looking for info on modifying the front hubs on my Disco to grease filled. A land rover dealer told me that this was fairly common practice but I can find no info on it. Anyone heard of this or done it? If so would really like to hear about how to do it and what grease etc.
Thanks, Opalnut.

Hey Opalnut

I get down to coffs a couple of time a year, my wife is from down there. I like to doing the fire trail from Gaudrons Rd to the lookout just north of coffs cannot remember the name. Not a bad track, a bit of low range stuff.

One shot grease is the go, available from Land Rover dealers, I'm sure there would be an after market option. Not that I have done it yet, I don't think its much more to it than drain the CV's and fill with grease, The guys at my part time job ARMY Reserves modified a chalking gun and silastic tube to make the job job easier, main reason was they had 30 or so 110's 60 cv's to do. Works quite well, I would be interested to hear what is like to service the CV's after it has been in there for a while, I'm guessing there would a bit more clean up. The grease comes in a soft plastic tubes, one tube per side.

I will be doing mine when the CV's next leak.

One shot grease is available from your dealer (if Geoff King is still the dealer!) - otherwise try Murray Kingman at MJK Discovery in Bellingen. He's an independent LR service specialist. Phone: (02) 6655-2443.

I shall have to do some 4WDing in Coffs. I go up occasionally. I have a house at Toormina which I'm renting out.

All the best

thank you both for your replies on Disco hubs, answers my question. Geoff King no longer does Landrovers, bad news, The guy in Belingan is still going though, will have to go and see him.
Thanks again, Opalnut.
