I found the 130 I was looking for

I purchased a 130 Defender on Monday [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img] . I haven't seen it yet as I phone bid at a Government Auction. I got my brother to have a quick look before. It is an 02 defender 130 TD5 done 106K with air, bull bar, winch, obieco steel tray 9 feet long, tow bar, bucket seats and console. It was ex Nat Parks and Wildlife. I have to pick it up yet and register it as it has run out and they kept the plates. I have been told I need a blue slip? and maybe a weigh bridge docket? does this sound right? The RTA cannot get their stories straight, talk to 2 people get 2 different answers.

I want to check it over before I drive it the 6 hours home. I don't know much (anything) about them. What sort of oil should I top the diffs or gearbox and transfer case up with if they need it? What else should I check before bringing it home? I don't want to stuff it the first time I drive it.
    Thanks
    Scott

    Congrats of the purchase.
Check your fluids I.E. Engine oil and coolant.
I'm running rimmula X in my engine, can't remeber the other oils for the diff and gear boxes.
Mine wan't weighed when I bought it but I made the dealer do all the paper work so I just had to front up to rego and hand over money. They did have to get an engineers certificate though.

Should not need a weigh bridge docket as it should be on the old rego papers which you should get.

    Blue slip is about $48.

Check oils are not full of water and are fairly full, drive it home and do a full service. You can get a Rave CD from the emporiom on this site that has all the details you'll ever need.

Did you get it for a good price?

How does $17000 sound. I just got a covernote for insurance and they insured it for $28000. I have a picture of it from the auction. how can I post it here? I don't have a website.

    Sounds like a great buy.

Go to the Gallery, start an album, upload the pics then link them to the post.

Welcome to the fold. Get some pics up so we all can see it. Auctions are good places at the moment. Was chatting to a dealer in Victoria I know who tells me i can get a TD5 disco for around 14 to 15K. It will be high Kms ie 220 or there abouts, having full LR Service history but still good price for one..

Now where did I leave that hidden stash of cash, mmmmmmmmmmmm

I made an album but missed naming it. Wasn't sure how to do a link so I just copied the address and posted it below. I hope it works.

The easy thing is to open the gallery your pics are in, in another window.

Then just right click on the picture
    select properties
cut and past the address/URL into your new post

    hilight the pasted details
    select the Img button above.

( This places [img][/img] tags around it )

    And the result is:

    [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img] Nice truck :!:
