Make the most of it guys, its the last one, and even worse if no other state comes on board Australia will loose its round of the WRC completely.

Speaking of Rallies the ARC is coming to bathurst in under a fortnight i am going to check that out. Matt

No the WRC love the gravel tracks. The WA Gov has removed funding. From memory when they were arguing about it in the press the WA Gov puts in 3 million bucks a year to Rally Aust,it was worked out that the event actually brings 12 million bucks a year into the state.REAL GOOD BEANCOUNTING YET AGAIN

So why no keep it?

I went in 1990. Fantastic event...fantastic state. We drove and took 5 days to get there. Went down south to Esperance, Albany, Bunbury and finally into Peth. Watched the rally...brilliant!!!
Then went 36 hours straight we were back in Melbourne 8O 8O

Those were the days

You wont belive what they have just funded as a replacement.
An airplane race around marker bouys over Langley Park and the river,I KID YOU NOT
No offence to avaition buffs but I cant see that it will bring any money into the state.
The times I have watched the rally in the country stages there are coach loads of Jap tourists all with their official Mitsubbie Tojo Subie outfits and badges depending which coach they got off.The europeans wernt as conspicious, but there wernt 40 odd at a time of them climbing out of coaches all dressed exactly the same

I will never understand the government thinks about motorsport, how long did it take the federal and the NSW state government to shell out for the money to upgrade Mt Panorama. Matt

Governments in this country only look as far ahead as the next election.

Yes i know, its unfortnunate because motorsport fans have to vote aswell, and the popularity of sport like ARC and V8 Supercars is increasing steadily, even the major papers are featuring regular articles on V8s these days but the government just dont see it. Matt
