    Engine Mounts

    Hi

Some time ago I replaced my engine mounts with after market versions.

I noticed however that they seem to have deteriorated pretty quickly

I was reading a discussion on FB where some disco owners had issues as well, the general consensus seems to be that only genuine mounts do the job and last

Has anyone had any experience with these mounts failing?

    Thanks
    Steve

Steve, i replaced mine with genuine. I figured they lasted 19 years so quality was as good as you're going to get. It seems a common trait with lots of the cheaper non genuine parts. They seem cheap originally but do not last the distance. Original parts wherever possible for me.

Yes! I too bought aftermarket mounts, and fitted them, and they had both split within a short few months. I am cranky about it. I do not remember which brand I bought.

I am now in the market for another set, and then skinning more knuckles installing them. Seems to me like the only aftermarket parts worth trying are those that:
    - are not critical
    - are easy to remove and refit
    - you are worth buying twice
