			Classic to Freelander
		
 
			
				
					Hi, Just popped over from R/R classic page, after 26 years with our 81 Classic as a daily drive we are looking for some comfort and hopefully less door slamming. Anyway am going to look at an 07 SE with 150K on it. Question is, are there any particular things to look out for?

 I got the wife an 07 TD4 SE a year ago with 160K on the clock and it's been a great car.
 
 The only issues was:
 - A LOT of road noise when I first picked up the car, but that was due to crap Goodyear Wrangler tyres.
-  Auto wipers not working due to crap job with a replacement windscreen. A replacement rain sensor fixed that.
- There is fair amount of wind buffering when you have the windows down at speed, but $70 weather shields are the solution to that one.
 
 I haven't been reading of any areas of concern except for the rear diff pinion bearing. But at 150k if it was a problem it would have been fixed by now.
 
 We bought ours thinking we would downsize from a Disco2 but the Freelander feels bigger in the passenger area just a little smaller and lower in the back.
 
 If it's fitted with the factory side steps make sure they are secure. They are flimsy as buggery. Only held on by 6mm bolts and rivets. Its an easy fix but may be a bargaining point.
 
 If you buy one make sure you also buy a 27mm floppy head ratchet ring spanner for the oil filter housing if you are doing your own servicing. everything else is easy.
