it only takes one customer to have a bad run and it all starts.
to me it sounds like opperator error!
my uncle bought one of the first VL commodores and it was the biggest
lemon there was, holden wouldnt believe him so after 6months of
replacements holden gave him a new one.
the point is.....
every thing has its faults, nothing is perfect.

I cant see how the same thing would fail on 4 different vehicles, and Land Rover not be able to find the fault. I am not defending Land Rover, but it sounds to me like Land Rovers claim of something he has interfering with the electronics mightnt be far wrong. One vehicle you could say "Oh well, luck of the Draw" but 4, one of which was a RRS, there is something more to that story.Originally posted by discowhite

I remember a story on ACA back when the VS Commodore was new. This guy bought a VS Ute brand new and with in 6 months the whole car had been replaced peice by piece nearly. He started the website www.drivealemon.com or something like that and after the story on ACA i think Holden finally came to the party. Electronics are bound to fail. Matt

its a common fault no matter what he drives.....
there is a nut loose behind the wheel....!!!
it is obviously something he is doing wrong that is upsetting the cars he drives....
if it happened to all the cars...or lets even say a small percentage of D3's...
it obvious there is a problem with the car...but since it is only happening to the ones he drives....need i say more....?
but if you were the dealer.....how would you politely tell your new customer that he is breaking your product....
and if they have an electronic handbrake maybe he is not using it like he is meant to and simply just putting a fault on the computer which can easily be reset....no damage or parts required......

I agree, it has to be driver error, if it wasn't don't you think they ( L/Rover) would have done a recall by now like other makes of vehicles have in the past.
My father had a 500 SL Merc that had 3 recall notices on it so it can happen with any vehicle.
