    Hi Scomac,
I was in Broome when you sent this, weather was great I agree, I was in the Cable Beach caravan park. The alternator on my TDV8 crapped out when we were staying at Denham for a couple of days. Presently on the way back on a tilt tray. Trying to get the parts and everything else electrical it was easier for the RAC to trailer the Sport and the camper trailer back to Perth.
Appears the battery is also absolutely "rooted". The trip back to Perth via shuttle bus, coach, train and taxi was a trip to behold.............OMG!!!

Just like to put a plug in here for Paul at Shark Bay Mechanical and the RAC as a whole, the whole effort and organisation has been great.............. next time I might give the overnight coach trip a miss and fly though........... My wife and I got back this morning, hope you get the windscreen fixed OK.

For us this could have been a truck load worse than it was, we were so lucky when things went amiss that we were less than 2 klms from the Denham town centre on the Monkey Mia road. TRS in Adelaide have already got the new alternator to me, awesome, thanks Ian.

    Cheers Marty.

PS didn't mean to hijack the thread.

    Cheers Marty.

Did a trip on the buss once from Port Hedland to Perth during the big Pilots strike and that was the first and last time , bloody night mare .
Sounds like the RAC did a great job in recovery for you guys .

    Hi There,
Same bus, we just caught it from the Overlander Roadhouse, all the way from Port Headland I feel for you, I seriously do. It is a means to an end and yes it worked however next time I might cycle back, I would still get home just might take a tad longer...... Some guy "let fluffy off the chain" about three hours in, it reduced my wife and I to tears, it was horrendous, no air movement it just seemed to linger for ever, we had a serious laugh about it when we got on the train in Perth however at the time it was really quite offensive...

    Cheers Marty.
