    Odometer light not working.

Tonight I noticed a lack of illumination for the odometer. The rest of the dash lights work. Any ideas on where to start?

    Thanks

    Julian

didn't put it in. I'll have a look at it tomorrow.
What wattage do I get? Is there a LED option? (I think I'll replace all the globes with LEDs while I am at it.)

    Thanks

From memory I think it is 2W and others in the cluster are 5W.

I didn't ever bother looking for LED options.

I just replaced my D1 dash lights with LEDs.

I had to do it a couple of times tho.
The first set I got, 'claimed' that they had some spread, but as with all LED options, they spot too hard, with little peripheral spread.

    I searched for more options:

    T5 LED globe ebay
(no affiliation with the seller, but they're the ones I purchased from. I got white tho, not blue)
The 5W replacement LED I got were something like this:

    T10 LED, no polarity, ebay
I got these ones due to the built in bridge rectifier, which means you can install either way and not worry about incorrect polarity.
The D1's dash has an impossible one to get too(for the Tacho), and I didn't want to be pulling it in and out more than this single instance.

The T5's I had delivered, but as the OP is in Williamstown, the T10's I got, I picked up in person .. not far from Willy.
The ebayer SunYee is located off Korroit Ck road in Altona. Easy drive from Willy.
If you know the new overpass at the railway line, there is a set of lights and road that heads south off Korroit Ck rd there.

    Hope that helps,
    Arthur.

The bright white works a treat. Maybe a touch bright on a totally dark road, but easy to live with(mine doesn't have the dash dimmer rheostat).

    T10 LED's

I'm fairly sure that I have got some of these for the MB Valente. I like the bridge rectifier ones better, not so critical for the Valente internal lights, just swap them around. Not so easy with the disco instruments.

I guess a blue one for the high beam light? or is there a blue filter?

    Cheers

The holders are giving the colour so you dont need coloured LEDs just to addapt them to the original holders not to solder them to the PCB if you se what i mean

SO the holders are taken apart, the globe swapped over and the holder put back together. Is that right?

    Thanks

Yes, that's it, you'll understand why when you'll have the holder in your hand just that you might need a magnifier and a tweezers
