    Transmission fault U0416

    Gday All,

Just started to get this fault come up, 2 times today , car goes into "special programs off" then lowers but doesn't go into limp mode. Code says " invalid data from vehicle dynamics."

New alternator installed 2 months ago and voltage seems fine. Haven't put a multi meter across it.

I did a hard reset but it faulted after doing so.

    Any ideas.

    Cheers Ean

If the supply of volts is definitely good, then I'd take a look at the ECUs behind the battery Ean. Check the pins and connectors, look for any corrosion.

Ok so what is the correct or acceptable voltage. Would have thought anything above 13 running would be ok.

This is what the manual says the volts should be:

Ean this is quite possibly a height sensor issue. Visually check all the sensor arms etc for damage and wiring/ plugs too. If the compressor is on the way out you will get different codes usually and warnings like 'vehicle raising slowly' at message centre.

Ok so I assume the chart relates to alternator at idle revs at those temps.

Thinking about it we were recently away camping where our 2nd battery was drained down enough for the fridge to cut out on low voltage but the tracked set up kept the start battery ok to start the car.

I put the battery charger on the batteries last night and both are at 13.4 volts this morning so will start from there and see where things progress.

So batteries at 13.3 before starting the car and 13.7 - 13.9 just after start up at idle. @ 26 degrees

Took the car for a 20 min drive and no faults so far.See how things go from here.

Was that fault code the only one for the whole vehicle?

Yes , no other faults were logged , but am sure this was logged in 2 seperate places - TC and Transmission as I recall.
