    Crankshaft Position Sensor

Just read on the UK Defender2 site about a Puma not starting due to this sensor failure.
Anyone here heard of this happening or is it so rare as to not being worth bothering about?
Or is it best to carry a spare in the trailer along with spare axles, driven members, clutches, adaptor shafts and lots of other Puma bits reputed to have a short life?

    Alan.
There is a recall on some D4/RRS for this part, perhaps its carried over into the Pehwmas too.
The sensor is small,I regularly got a fault in the D2 "Noisy crank signal" I changed it out, still got the fault.Kept a spare in the glove box just in case as they are a show stopper. Its smaller than a lawn mower spark plug

Do you know if it's in the same place as on the earlier td5 ? I suppose if they only cost a few $$ then It's something to consider . Jim
