Mike I like that, nice and low profile.
How is it for wind noise???
Andrew
Babs asked to see some photos of my roof rack so here they are. I have this for about 18 months. This is my second Front Runner rack and both going strong. No complaints about them at all and they are very versatile.

Should be better than mine, as it's the newer version that mounts lower to the roof, and mine is not too bad for wind noise (I've had worse). Mine is the older version on legs which sits a bit higher than that one (and is also the full length version). I like the look of the lower mounting, but I'd hate to try to polish the roof with one fitted - mine is bad enough. Also, you can't fit the optional camping table that I have under the lower mounted rack - there isn't enough clearance.
Cheers .........

I like it. Dare I ask how much?
It was around $1100 as I recall and I fitted it myself. Hardly any wind noise unless there is a strong crosswind but not really noticeable. I have polished the roof and I use a low profile sponge on a stick to wash it from the rear.

						Thanks Mike, appreciated.
I'm planning on doing one of those protective clear wraps on the roof before fitting the rack. For the reasons mentioned above about access to washing.
And every time I go to tie up something a hook or ratchet hits the roof, the protective wrap will give it some protection against scratches.
Now just to find someone in Sydney who does the clear protection in a wrap. ❓ anyone know of anywhere ❓ cheers.

If you put some spacers between the rack and the legs (4mm) as well as bend the table mounting brackets up a little, the table will fit without rubbing on the roof. Also add some marine carpet to the sides of the table mounting brackets and you will have a noise free experience in general
A handle on the rear of the table makes it a lot easier to insert/retract the table. Cutting the front of the table mounts and making the initial opening a bit wider helps too. Only needs 20 mm.
The table combined with the rack is amazing. I generally love the whole thing.
Mine came with marine carpet already installed in the slides, so once it was all installed and adjusted to a tight fit, no issue with rattling and noise.
Bathroom towel rails from Bunnings make good handles (and give you somewhere to hang the tea towels when using the table).
You learn very quickly about the need for at least one handle the first time you put the table up under the roof rack and get your fingers in the wrong place.

Cheers .........
