Facebook Vs Adblockers, Aljazeera listening post

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I'm not surprised- people want free content but it has to be paid for somehow.

It pays to read/watch the article to discover what it is actually about.

Face book delivers over 40% of all US based news traffic, and has been accused of manipulating trending topics in order to suppress conservative agendas'. A subtle form of population control, using network power to influence national agenda, which Brazil's Redo Globo, latin America's biggest media outlet, uses . [ as explained in the first post] In Turkey, newspapers with alternate views to the government line have been shut down, and taken over by the government. Twitter accounts with the same views have been closed. In a democratic society, it is important that news outlets are not controlled by a central power. Australia has laws in place to prevent such a thing, not sure about anywhere else. It is an interesting trend in World media, something I wasn't aware of.

Interesting considering Aunty is one of the most biased in its reporting.

That depends on whose political propaganda you listen to.There are those who think the Australian and Courier Mail are totally biased in one direction. Depends on which camp you are in, the point is, the Australian public can make their own minds up regarding local issues. The more discerning go further afield regarding international issues. I remember during the Gulf War, Australian media, US media, The BBC, Aljazeera, SBS and other foreign news feeds all had differing views . You had to cover them all to make your mind up on what was essentially the middle ground. From memory SBS and Aljazeera had the most even handed reporting on events. History has shown this to be correct, just as history will judge , in the fullness of time, when the Archives become public [ if that freedom still exists] all the players involved .
