    Failing brake control switch.

    Hi all.

I have had the car register a HDC fault and lower to access mode twice now, since changing my front LCA rear bushes. At this stage I am assuming most of it is due to the steering wheel position sensor registering a cocked wheel due to the wheel alignment being out, but i have reason to suspect the brake control switch is playing up due to the extent of codes it has thrown, and it's just coincidence its started now.

When stationary and in neutral, i can hear the switch click as the brake pedal is pressed and released. I've only noticed this recently and assume it isnt normal. I can't hear it while moving, and havent yet tested it while stationary and in drive.

    Is the clicking normal behaviour?

Regarding the codes my mechanic has cleared them and we will read them again once the alignment is completed.

    Cheers

    Dan

Interesting as I had a control arm bush replaced last week and intermittent errors this weekend. The first sign was the brake lights remaining on and then it went into limp mode at one point. Was back to normal Sunday and now same brake lights staying on this morning.

My first thought was the brake light switch which I removed and then put back in which made no difference.

Booked into LR tomorrow so will hopefully discover what it is. When I read the fault codes I could see nothing which is odd.
