    Red Dust Affects

After cleaning up after running fast on red dirt roads I noticed a few interesting bits of wear and tear.

The back tailgate collected a big pile of dust in the lip at the top where the hinges are. Rinsing turned this to mud.

After washing, where the upper tailgate seals land on the lower tailgate have worn through the paint at the outside ends.

The rear windscreen wiper has scored the glass where it has rubbed dust constantly in corrugations.

The amount of dust that got into the back corners from behind the indicators was pretty surprising and took a good clean out.

I'm sure some contact clear could avoid this for those interested.

Good old CT18 has cleaned it up well

    I like you roof rack
When your CT18 runs out,try CT20,same thing plus wax.It works wonders.I mix up a strong brew in a garden sprayer and give it to the D4 the nite before.Bugs and that red dirt come off really well.
AND,if you do it on the lawn it slays lawn beetle
Gave mine a good dose after the Exmouth trip, made cleaning an easy task.

It's hard to imagine a closer fit than that onto the LR short bars.

That mark on the rear window where the wiper and dust have rubbed will polish out with some toothpaste on a cloth.

To prevent same happening again what I do is put a strip of electrical tape on the glass under the wiper rubber when there long dusty km involved.

    Hi Andy,
Not sure if you had worked it out, I'm the WA Part Manager for Kenworth Trucks,
I have so much truck wash and different types you can bath in it!

Plus looks of other goodies, truckies do love their toys and anything electrical!

Just let me know your WA Aulro members if you drop by work or PM,

    Ask for Jack,

    Jack

    Well there you go.
I always see Andrew(LovemyV8) at Daimler Trucks,he is the WA Part Manager there.
Was the cheapest place to buy fully synthetic oil and CAT OAT coolant when I was running 2 TD5 Landys.

Not sure if I have met Andrew, Dean has been there parts manager at Daimler /
Freightliner Trucks for quite a few years, Andrew might have moved on or up as they were taken over by AHG some years ago and they have a lot of different franchises.

I always say Perth is like a big country town, can't go anywhere or do anything without bumping into someone we know via our work life.
