2013 Puma gear box noise under full boost

Hi all, just wondering if any of you Puma owners have experienced any noise issues with the gearbox, especially while towing, when the engine is developing full torque?

The noise is a gear harmonic/resonance (like a low gear chatter/rumble resonating low frequency) which seems to be coming from the gear box area. It only happens when close to full torque in 5th or 6th when towing or climbing a very steep bit of hwy.

I had my clutch replaced under warranty because the rivets came loose at 55000km, at 78000km I've noticed the clutch rattle coming back when cold, which is how the original started. Just thinking that this may be related?

    Any thoughts?

Remove your gear stick. You will find that LR used weights which are kept in place with grease. Chances are they need to either be re-greased or cleaned and glued in place (permanent fix). Hope that helps

Not really. The hardest bit is removing the rubber around the gearstick. After that just release the clamps that hold it in place and it should lift straight out. Its easy...

To be honest im not sure. I'd imagine that it gives the gearstick a bit more weight making easier to manover. Thats just a guess

It sounds like a problem may be starting with 6th and I suggest not towing or heavy loads in 6th until the issue is resolved, This is an overdrive gear and will most likely lead to a major gearbox problem.
I always use 5th if I have a full load or up a steep hill with my 130.
