    D3 - Roof rails & cross arms

    Folks,
I have a 2007 D3 and want to get some roof rails and cross rms. It has the tracks under the plastic strips.

Does anybody have the LR part numbers for these please?

I did a search but could not find what I needed.

    thanks in advance.

    cheers
    Peter

Found them on both fleabay and Rimmer Bros

VPLAR0074 Roof Rack Side Rail Set - Extended Length - Full Length of Roof - Black Finish - Genuine Land Rover $568 AUD

    VPLAR0001 Discovery 3 & 4 Roof Rack Cross Bars - Pair - Genuine Land Rover $350

Fleabay the guy wants $849 for the rails & $529 for the cross arms

Think it's cheaper to go with Rimmers!

I bought the VPLAR0074 genuine rails locally from a dealer. I rang around looking for a deal and paid $700 versus a normally quoted >$1000
Given the size of them, with the shipping costs from Rimmer Bros you'll probably end up around the same money...

Not sure of your application but the genuine cross rails have a limited useable width compared to say Rhino bars (e.g. VA137) so that may be worth considering too

Thanks mate, I'm still considering options. Stealers up here charge a fortune for any part so have not even tried them yet but will do so.

As for the cross arms I only want to hang an awning on them, one I can remove easily. Have not even looked into how to do that yet.

For that purpose I think you'll find Rhino cross bars will work better, as the LR crossbars arms go inboard a bit before you have a slot to attach the bracket to where the Rhino bars overhang may work better. Different to the pic below, but I ended up mounting my awning under the crossbar - worked well.

    Peter.
There are no rails under the trims. You need the rail plus the cross bar if you need adjustable bar position.
Look up the Rhino website,as you can get the Rhino bars that bolt direct to your roof so the rails aren't needed. The downside is you can only fit the cross bars where the roof fittings are.Have a look at the trims, where the plastic fixtures are is where the roof fastenings are.

How do you like the Kings awning????
I will be looking for one into the future.
They don't spontainously combust like the fridges do they???
Not having a crack at your awning, genuinely interested in the quality.

For $118 delviered it seems pretty good! If I get 2 or 3 years out of it and it falls apart I'll buy another one.

Some of the other 3 letter suppliers want stupid money for a bit of alloy and canvas!
