Defender body barwork (body tree sliders)

Just wondering if anybody have them fitted.....? weather they be home made or the terrafirma ones

I'm not looking for protection but more interested in the mounting arrangement as i have plans to manufacture some custom mounts that would bolt to the same area.

is it just drilling a holes and a big washer on the inside of the tub?

Would that sort of side protrusion be legal, ?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Dunno.....but there was a PDF posted on here awhile ago..buffered if I can find it...from Queensland transport and it has how much you can overload your car I.e. Width, height , length etc

from memory is was 150mm each side you can overload your car width wise, a MTB comes in and around 150, load it up and get from point A to point B oh and fit 130 mirror arms and bobs your uncle.

Some tray backs sit this far from the body work. see plenty of glaziers with a big arse frame hanging off the side.

Just going through the concept stage ATM.

Iain, sorry I couldn't see the pics yesterday...I already have side steps and was looking for how the body bars are fitted as per mud86's post.

2.5m gives a lot of leeway in a defender
