    Lardy,

A die grinder, Dremel or file down to bare metal with coarse finish and Devcon (available at Blackwoods and industrial suppliers) may be your friend for a temporary repair....

And the best form of permanent repair is a really good temporary repair......

I have used Devcon for many pump repairs with lots of joy!!

    Cheers,

    Gumnut

Thanks guys appreciate the input, was also wondering if a good ali welder could build it back up then grind it flush....Devcon seems a good one for now.
