Supporterjust replaced slave cylinder on the perentie but forgot to refit the thin metal shim/spacer(see pic) that came off with the old one-is it really necessary?
scuse typos from the PMreply but ive hada **** of a day, my bike stolen and have hada few relaxing sherbets with idnnerand an knackered and going to bed.
to work out if you need that one you need to do some measuing.
from the face of the mount of the slave measure the height of the piston at max depth, do the same on the new one, if your new one is deeper than the old one you dont need it.
if its the same you need it.
if its sallower you may need antoher.
the easiest field check is just to unbolt the slave cyinder mount bolts 2 turns. if you cant push the salve up by hand then you may be mechanically operating the clutch.
if you cant work it out because of residual pressure or you nto sure if its a hydraulic lock up problem use a brake bleeder to put vacuum ontoto the slavde cylinder via the flex line and repeat the test, if you still feel pressure twhen you undo the botls you've got an issue.
